In January, 2006 CCDoTT was invited to give a program briefing to LGEN Robert Dail, USA, Deputy Commander of USTRANSCOM and his staff. The specific purpose of this briefing was to update USTRANSCOM on the status of our Pacific Northwest Agile Port Demonstration and to engage their support for the Military Load-out of this project with Ft. Lewis and the Port of Tacoma.
A succesful commerical demonstration of the Efficient Marine Terminal concept was held at the Port of Tacoma in June 2003. USTRANSCOM then commissioned CCDoTT to write a plan for a full scale military/commercial Agile Port System Demonstration utilizing the Efficient Marine Rail Intermodal Interface concept. Links to the EMT Demonstration report, video file, and PNW APS Demonstration Plan are provided at the end of this page.
Another goal of this briefing was to re-engage USTRANSCOM as CCDoTT program partner in Agile Port and Rapid Deployment projects.
The Program started with Mr. Stan Wheatley providing the history of USTRANSCOM's relationship with CCDoTT and the numerous joint efforts that have been undertaked. Dr. Lawrence Mallon then gave a presentation on Strategic Mobility 21, followed by Mr. Blair Garcie of TranSystems with a presentation on the Pacific Northwest Agile Port Demonstration.
This briefing set the stage for further USTRANSCOM involvement with ongoing CCDoTT programs. CCDoTT is continuing to coordinate efforts with USTRANSCOM whenever possible.
