USTRANSCOM High Speed Sealift/Agile Port Technical Interchange Meetings

December 11 – 15, 1995

As a precursor to development of the High Speed Sealift/Agile Port concept USTRANSCOM and CCDoTT conducted a series of Technical Interchanges Meetings (TIMs) to investigate the viability of the concept.

A series of five TIMs were held in Washington DC during the week of December 11-15, 1995 to brief and gather feedback from defense, government and private sector representatives. Participants included representatives from the US Department of Defense (DOD), the US Department of Transportation (DOT), and private shipping, rail and trucking entities.

The TIMs were highly successful in identifying the concerns, challenges and potential solutions as seen by the military and commercial industry in relationship to the High Speed Sealift/Agile Port concept. They established a clear direction in developing an Operational Concept Document that would significantly benefit USTRANSCOM in identifying and pursuing a highly effective and efficient deployment system.

Presentation materials, meeting notes and attendees from all five meetings, and action items are provided in the links below.
