CCDoTT Program Review (CPR)
East Coast Conference December 13, 2011
The CCDoTT Program Review was held on December 13, 2011 at the Hall of States in Washington, DC. With the highest attendance to date for our East Coast Conference, the standing room only crowd of over 80 participants was treated to presentations by the principals of CCDoTT projects underway with university and commercial research partners.
The conference opened with a presentation by Jonathan Kaskin, Director Strategic Mobility and Combat Logistics, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. The presentation centered on Navy Strategic Mobility capabilities, requirements and initiatives; and the impact of continuing cuts to Navy Future Sealift. He emphasized CCDoTT’s role in support of Short Sea Shipping and Navy mobility interests
Among the VIPs in attendance was Mario Cordero, Federal Maritime Commissioner and former Harbor Commissioner for the Port of Long Beach. Click here to view Commissioner Cordero’s letter of support for CCDoTT’s East Coast Conference and California State University, Long Beach.
The Program Review is specifically targeted to allow government and military interests to have feedback on the current FY09 CCDoTT projects. Special invitations were extended to military, government, and commercial industry reps with an interest in Short Sea Shipping / American Marine Highways.
Our thanks go out to the staff of the California State University Office of Federal Relations who helped to make this event happen.
