CCDoTT’s IMPACT 2006 conference was held in Long Beach on board the RMS Queen Mary November 16, 2006 to an audience of over 100 attendees.
This conference celebrated CCDoTT’s ten years in maritime and goods movement research and development. Festivities included a special dinner for presenters, Advisory Committee members, presenters, staff and invited guests.
Among the conference highlights was a speech by CSULB President F. King Alexander expressing his full support for the CCDoTT program. The Keynote address by Mr. Jon Kaskin centered on dual use R&D and CCDoTT’s role in getting costs down to a competitive level. The Navy founded the Sr. Executive Sealift Forum as a government/industry partnership to address these issues, the CCDoTT solution of commercial/military research in the area of “fort-to-foxhole” Agile Port/High Speed Sealift systems is precisely what is recommended.
It was exciting and informative event with an audience of representatives from all the major ports in Southern California, engineers, business interests, government officials, academia, and the press, reflecting the broad spectrum of our research efforts.
The Invitation, Press Releases Program Packet, Summary Report and all the Presentations are found in the links below. Our thanks go out to The Barton Group, all attendees, staff, and the crew of the RMS Queen Mary who helped to make this event happen.
On behalf of CCDoTT, we look forward to many more years of making a difference in cutting edge maritime transportation and goods movement technologies.
